The Professional Fighters League is headed back to New York City for the second and third playoff cards of the 2023 PFL season.
Promotion officials announced via press release on Thursday that the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City was set to host the remaining two 2023 playoff events on Friday, August 18 and Wednesday, August 23.
Heavyweights and Women’s Featherweights feature on the August 18 card, while Welterweight and Lightweight fighters throw down on August 23.
Winners of these events will move on to the 2023 final this fall.
The Professional Fighters League “is thrilled to return to New York City and the ‘World’s Most Famous Arena’ with two nights of PFL Playoff action,” said promotion CEO Peter Murray in Thursday’s press release. “On August 18 and August 23, the world’s best fighters will enter the PFL Smartcage with a trip to the 2023 PFL World Championship on the line. The PFL Regular Season has led to these critical moments, where elite athletes move one step closer to their $1million dreams.”
The second half of the league’s 2023 season kicks off on Thursday night at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Featherweight champ Brendan Loughnane headlines the event; besides featherweight action, the light heavyweight division is also in the spotlight — despite having lost a number of fighters due to failed drug tests earlier this year.
