If you’ve followed MMA for any amount of time, then you’re no doubt familiar with UFC vet Houston Alexander. Starting his combat sports career in 2001, Alexander landed in the UFC six years later, and even wound up fighting the late Kimbo Slice, in one of the Youtube/backyard fighting star’s two bouts in the promotion.
Over twenty years later, with stops in Bellator and KSW among others, Alexander now calls BKFC home, and has put together a 3-0 record under the bareknuckle outfit’s banner. On Friday night, he was set to throw down with Jeremy Smith in the cruiserweight main event of BKFC 43 in Omaha, Nebraska.
Going down at the Liberty First Credit Union Arena, BKFC 43 also featured well-travelled MMA vet Dakota Cochrane in the co-main event, looking to build on his 4-2 record in BKB against Noah Cutter. Jade Wong and Taylor Starling were also in action, while UFC alum Jimmie Rivera faced Bekhzod Usmonov. Fighting to a draw in his bareknuckle debut last year, Rivera was still in search of his first win in BKFC.
