BKFC 42 went down Friday night in Greenville, South Carolina, the first show back from a huge card in Colorado that had the combat sports world focused on the leading bareknuckle promotion.
With an appearance by Conor McGregor, Mike Perry defeating Luke Rockhold, and Eddie Alvarez getting back in the win column against Chad Mendes (not to mention “Big” Ben Rothwell securing a title shot), BKFC had managed to do what was once unthinkable: outshine the UFC, who ran an underwhelming Fight Night card at the Apex the very same day.
BKFC 42 was a more muted affair, however, lacking the star power the company had put on display just two weeks prior. With luck, however, the fights themselves would make up for it. The bareknuckle card was headlined by Tony Soto III and Tyler Goodjohn in a lightweight match-up, while MMA’s Andy Nguyen looked for her third straight win in BKFC against Sydney Smith.
