Brendan Allen was all set to headline the UFC’s June 3 Fight Night card at the Apex.
However, with Allen’s originally scheduled opponent, Jack Hermansson, withdrawing from the fight due to injury, “All In” has now joined UFC Jacksonville on June 24, 2023. There, the #13-ranked 185’er will face Bruno Silva, who came up with a big win late last month.
News of the new booking was first reported by MMA Mania. Allen and Silva subsequently confirmed the match-up on social media, with Allen adding “new opponent, same outcome” on his Instagram story.
Allen (21-5), a former LFA champ, has won four straight fights, with three rear-naked choke submissions in that span. Most recently, the 27-year old put away Andre Muniz to secure his second straight Performance of the Night bonus.
Bruno Silva (23-8) snapped a two-fight skid just a week and a half ago, earning “Blindado” his own Performance of the Night bonus for a TKO victory against middleweight staple Brad Tavares.
As it stands, the UFC Jacksonville (UFC on ABC 5) card at the VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena on June 24 features the following reported match-ups:
