Welterweight action featuring an Ultimate Fighter winner has been lined up for the UFC’s May 13 event.
Bryan Battle (8-2), who won The Ultimate Fighter 29 at middleweight and later dropped to 170lbs, is set to take on “Gifted” Gabe Green (11-4) at the Fight Night event.
Iridium Sports Agency, who represent both fighters, announced the news on Wednesday.
Battle recently suffered his first setback in the UFC, losing a unanimous decision against Rinat Fakhretdinov in December. Prior to that loss, the 28-year old had won three straight inside the octagon, including his TUF 29-winning performance against Gilbert Urbina.
He’ll now look to bounce back against Gabe Green, who is coming off his own loss to Ian Garry. Green is 2-2 in the promotion, having sandwiched wins over Yohan Lainesse and Phil Rowe between the Garry fight and a loss to Daniel Rodriguez.
The UFC’s May 13, 2023 Fight Night event does not have a venue, broadcast plan, or location officially announced, but is expected to be headlined by light heavyweights Anthony Smith and Johnny Walker. The following match-ups have been reported for the card:
