Maybe it’s just the strut, but Conor McGregor had some serious praise for UFC 285 winner Ian Garry on Saturday night.
Garry improved to 11-0 with a third-round TKO of China’s Song Kenan as part of the event’s preliminary card. The victory did not come easy, with Garry being knocked down in the opening round.
Kenan was all over the Irish welterweight, but Garry hung in there, and turned the tide over the course of the next two rounds. When all was said and done, it was Kenan clearly looking defeated, eyes swollen, multiple abrasions showing.
After the win, Garry put on a little strut — a walk very similar to that of McGregor, who in turn essentially lifted it from pro wrestling’s Vince McMahon.

Tagged in a clip of Garry, McGregor responded with a simple message: “I see a Champion!”
It’s clear McGregor has Garry’s back. Many have seen the 25-year old nicknamed “The Future” as the next coming of McGregor, and so far, he has not disappointed. In addition to starting his professional fighting career 11-0, Garry has four wins inside the octagon, with two finishes in that span.
Following his win over Kenan, Garry called for a spot on the UFC 287 card in Miami in April. That would be an impressively quick turnaround.
Conor McGregor, meanwhile, has been in Las Vegas filming the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter, while also shooting scenes for a remake of the 1989 classic Road House.
