Dublin – Bellator interim welterweight champion Logan Storley will look to unify the titles against welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov at Bellator 291 Feb. 25 in Ireland.
“I’m excited and I’m ready. I know I did a lot of, not majorly different, but 25 minutes is different. I’ve been through two of those fights in the last year, and I know that my body is ready,” Storley told reporters at Bellator 291 media day.
Storley (14-1) will look to get one back in the rematch against Amosov. The first fight at Bellator 252 was won by Amosov via split-decision.
“I think (the loss) made me grow. I had to grow. Mid-second (round) we started throwing. I landed some good shots and really had to push the pace harder than either of us have ever pushed during a fight and I think that made me grow,” Storley said.
“Then obviously you look at the (Neiman) Gracie fight. That was 25 minutes on the feet the whole time so I think when my career is over I’ll look back at that Amosov fight and realize how much I grew during that process.”
With Amosov having spent a long time back in Ukraine fighting for his country it begs the question of what Amosov has been able to do during and since his time in country fighting.
“Obviously I’ve improved a lot. I don’t know what he’s been able to do. I know he was over there for a while. I know he’s back in Florida and training. Those are out of my control. I don’t know what he’s been able to do and obviously like we said before the situation he was in,” he said.
“But I do know that I have improved dramatically since November of 2020 to know February 23. That’s what any great fighter will do is continue to improve.”
