The UFC women’s featherweight division continues to lurch along, with Norma Dumont, one of the few female fighters to consistently fight at 145 pounds in the promotion, making her return in April.
Dumont (8-2) will face fellow Brazilian Karol Rosa (16-4) at a UFC Fight Night event on April 22, 2023.
Ag.Fight was first to report the news, with Dumont recently confirming the match-up on her Instagram Story.
In her last outing, Dumont spoiled the debut of boxer Danyelle Wolf, earning a unanimous decision win over the Contender Series alum. Prior to that, she had dropped a split decision to TUF 28 winner Macy Chiasson, who has flirted with returning to 145lbs but has never pulled the trigger.
All of Norma Dumont’s fights in the UFC have come at featherweight, with the exception of a November 2020 win over Ashlee Evans-Smith that was scheduled for bantamweight. Dumont missed weight for the bout, resulting in a catchweight affair.
Dumont holds notable wins over former UFC title challenger and Invicta FC champ Felicia Spender, and Aspen Ladd, who recently departed the promotion and signed on with the PFL.
Double-champ Amanda Nunes continues to hold both the bantamweight and featherweight titles in the promotion.
Rosa is 5-1 inside the octagon, with her lone loss coming to ex-title challenger and Olympian Sara McMann. Most recently, she captured a majority decision victory against Lina Lansberg.
No other fights have been reported for the UFC’s April 22, 2023 event. No location, venue, or broadcast plan has been announced for the card.
