Steven “Ocho” Peterson will make his highly anticipated return to the UFC octagon later this year.
Peterson (19-10) will be met by rising prospect Lucas Alexander (7-3), a Brazilian striker still in search of his first win with the promotion. The featherweight clash is set to take place at a UFC Fight Night on March 25, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas — and has all the makings of a “Fight of the Night” candidate.
Steven Peterson is known to be one of the most violent fighters on the UFC roster, having secured a “Performance of the Night” bonus for his vicious spinning back fist knockout of Martin Bravo, in addition to receiving “Fight of the Night” honors in both his UFC debut, and his most recent bout with Julian Erosa last February. Though both fights resulted in narrow decision losses for “Ocho”, Peterson’s fast paced striking style and ‘kill or be killed’ mentality has helped him to become a fan favorite amongst hardcore MMA fans.
Alexander will be looking to bounce back from a loss to Joanderson Brito in his promotional debut last year. Prior to that he had won five straight, including a victory over UFC vet Jacob Kilburn as part of Anthony Pettis FC 1.
