Stamp Fairtex was left in limbo when originally scheduled opponent Anissa Meksen no-showed the ONE Fight Night 6 (ONE on Prime Video 6) weigh-ins Thursday.
Friday morning, however, Fairtex has landed a new opponent, albeit at a different weight, and under a different ruleset.
While the Meksen fight was supposed to have been a mixed rules bout, alternating between MMA and Muay Thai between rounds, Fairtex will now face Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak in a strawweight kickboxing bout.
The good news is, Stamp, one of ONE Championship’s more popular fighters, gets to stay on the card.
Taking place at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday, January 13, 2023, ONE Fight Night 6 is headlined by a trio of title fights. The card was also supposed to involve the late Victoria Lee, who tragically passed away at age 18 late last year.
Fairtex wore a shirt with Lee’s image during Thursday’s weigh-in ceremony in honor of her fellow ONE fighter.
