Ahead of ONE Fight Night 6 (otherwise known as ONE on Prime Video 6 for North American fight fans), a ONE Championship athlete has no-showed weigh-ins.
Per a report by the South China Morning Post, among a couple of misses at the event’s official weigh-in on Thursday, Anissa Meksen was unexpectedly absent entirely.
Meksen had been booked to face Stamp Fairtex in a mixed rules bout.
As a result, the French-Algerian striker will not compete on Friday’s card at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
Per the SCMP, Ric Auty, ONE Championship’s Senior Director of Competition, announced the news, saying only that “Anissa Meksen has missed the weight and hydration testing window and therefore will not fight at ONE Fight Night 6.”
No reason for Meksen’s failure to weigh-in has been given. With 103 wins combined in her kickboxing and Muay Thai record, Meksen holds notable victories in ONE Championship, GLORY Kickboxing, and other organizations.
ONE Championship is reportedly seeking to find a replacement opponent for the bout, which will see both Muay Thai and MMA rules in play, switching between rounds. For now, however, Stamp Fairtex is stuck in limbo.
Two fighters missed weight on Thursday, including striking legend Rodtang, but all remaining fights on the ONE Fight Night 6 card appear good to go. The full card, set to streak live on Amazon’s Prime Video platform, breaks down as follows:
