Another recent Dana White’s Contender Series winner has his UFC debut date set.
Nazim Sadykhov (7-1), who trains with Longo and Weidman MMA, will face off with Evan Elder (7-1) in a lightweight bout at a Fight Night event on February 18, 2023. No venue, location, or broadcast plan has been officially announced for the event.
MMA Junkie was first to report the news on Tuesday. Sadykhov later confirmed the match-up on social media.
Sadykhov made quite the impact when he knocked out Ahmad Suhail Hassanzada in the third round of their Contender Series fight on August 16. The KO extended the winning streak of “Black Wolf” to seven. Sadykhov previously competed for Cage Fury FC, Fury FC, and Ring of Combat.
Sporting an identical record to that of his opponent, Elder lost his promotional debut against Preston Parsons back in April. The first loss of his professional career snapped a seven fight win streak compiled in Shamrock FC, LFA, and FAC.
Aside from Nazim Sadykhov vs. Evan Elder, only one other fight has been reported for the previously unannounced February 18, 2023 UFC Fight Night card. That would be a welterweight showdown between promotional newcomers Billy Goff, another Contender Series alum, and Themba Gorimbo. More fights are likely to trickle out in the coming weeks however.
