Next year’s UFC Seoul card — yet to be officially announced — is starting to take shape.
On Wednesday, a pair of fights were confirmed for the event. The bouts in question feature South Korean talent in both cases, as Ji Yeon Kim (9-6-2) will face Mandy Bohm (7-2) at strawweight, while Devin Clark (13-7) faces Da Un Jung (15-3-1) at light heavyweight.
Kim confirmed the booking on social media following an initial report by The AllStar Sport. Clark vs. Jung was first reported by BJPenn.com.
For Ji Yeon Kim, the fight may be the last chance to save her spot on the UFC roster. “Fire Fist” has lost four straight, and while other fighters may have been shown the door already, the Korean strawweight has won two Fight of the Night bonuses in that span. Her last loss, to Joselyne Edwards, came at UFC 277 in July, in a close split decision.
That has earned her a go at Bohm, who has lost back-to-back fights against Ariane Lipski and Victoria Leonardo. Having previously competed for Bellator, TKO, and other organizations, Germany’s Bohm remains in search of her first UFC win.
As for Clark and Jung, both enter their fight off recent losses. Jung fell to Dustin Jacoby, while Clark came up short against Azamat Murzakanov last time out.
The UFC’s expected return to Seoul, South Korea is anticipated to take place on February 24, 2023. No other fights have been confirmed for the event thus far.
