Cage Fury FC was back in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Saturday, with CFFC 113 featuring a heavyweight title fight in its main event.
That card-topper saw the vacant heavyweight belt on the line when Greg Velasco faced off with Kevin Sears. A promising heavyweight prospect, the 29-year old Velasco was an undefeated 4-0 to start the night, with a 100% finish rate in those four victories. Having spent his entire pro career under the Cage Fury banner, Velasco’s lone loss had come in his amateur days — also in CFFC, against current UFC heavyweight Hamdy Abdelwahab.
His opponent, Kevin Sears, boasted nearly four times the experience of Velasco himself, but was making his CFFC debut in the fight. Sears, coming off a single win after being absent for the bulk of the coronavirus pandemic, had previously shared the cage with UFC fighter Parker Porter, and PFL’s Kelvin Tiller, coming up short against both.
CFFC 113 takes place at the Parx Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey on Saturday, October 8, 2022. The main card airs live on UFC Fight Pass following prelims streaming on Youtube. Full results from the event can be found below.
