Featherweights Bryce Mitchell and Movsar Evloev will kick off the month of November for the UFC, possibly in a main event tilt.
Evloev (16-0) and Mitchell (15-0) are set to face off at the UFC’s November 5, 2022 Fight Night event — but whether the bout is a three-round affair, or five round main event, remains to be seen. Combate was first to report news of the pairing, which is yet to be signed off on.
Both fighters have agreed to the match-up, however.
Mitchell, a.k.a. “Thug Nasty,” remains undefeated in his professional career and is coming off his biggest win yet, over Edson Barboza at UFC 272 back in March. A veteran of The Ultimate Fighter 27, which featured a cast comprised entirely of undefeated fighters, Mitchell has already surpassed the season’s featherweight winner, Brad Katona, who was released by the promotion in 2019 after posting a 2-2 record.
The Arkansas native also holds wins over Andre Fili and Charles Rosa, among others, and boasts a twister submission against Matt Sayles.
Evloev, a former M-1 champion, is also undefeated in his pro career. He captured the M-1 title at bantamweight and defended it twice before returning to 145lbs upon making his UFC debut.
In his most recent performance, the Russian picked up a win over Dan Ige in June.
