A lightweight bout will see a couple of fan favorites face off at the UFC’s December 3 event.
Michael Johnson (20-18) is set to throw down with Marc Diakiese (16-5) at the Fight Night card. Journalist Al Zullino was first to report the news, with Diakiese later confirming the booking on social media.
No venue, location, or broadcast plan has been announced for the date.
Johnson is in the midst of a disastrous stretch that has seen him pick up just one single win in his last six fights. While he snapped a four-fight losing streak by capturing a win against Alan Patrick in May, “The Menace” wound up losing a split decision opposite Jamie Mullarkey last month.
The 36-year old Johnson has been with the UFC well over a decade now, making his debut as part of The Ultimate Fighter 12 in 2010. Johnson was a member of Team GSP, and made it all the way to the finale, losing to Jonathan Brookins — but ultimately outlasting him in the promotion.
England’s Marc Diakiese, a.k.a. “Bonecrusher,” has won both of his fights in 2022, defeating Viacheslav Borschev and Damir Hadzovic, both by decision and both in London. Diakiese will look to make it 3-for-3 in December.
