Salt Lake City, UT — The UFC 278 official weigh-in went down Friday morning, essentially free of any drama — though one fight will not move forward.
In the early morning hours on Friday, Shanna Young fell ill, transported to hospital as a result — with her fight against Miranda Maverick pulled from the card.
That dropped the UFC 278 line-up to 12 fights, with all 24 fighters making weight at the official weigh-ins in Salt Lake City. A couple of fighters looked a bit rough on the scales, notably Leonardo Santos, who had to be assisted to the scale by a coach. However, all fighters hit their mark.
Coming in second to last in the weigh-in window, former featherweight champ Jose Aldo, now a bantamweight, had to weigh in a second time behind a barrier after initially clocking in at 136.5. He appeared noticeably relieved after stripping down allowed him to hit 136.
