One week removed from a tumultuous night in Phoenix, site of UFC 274, the octagon was set to return to Las Vegas for a Fight Night headlined by light heavyweight staples.
The main event of UFC Vegas 54 was an opportunity for the winner to inch closer to a shot at gold. For Jan Blachowicz, he was looking to work his way back to Glover Teixeira, who had dethroned him late last year. Aleksandar Rakic, meanwhile, was hoping to move closer to his first title opportunity in the company.
The co-headliner featured two other hard-hitting 205’ers, as Ion Cutelaba returned against Ryan “Superman” Spann.
Also on the card, some key women’s flyweight pairings: Amanda Ribas was looking to get past 125 pound gatekeeper Kaytlin Chookagian, while Andrea “KGB” Lee was seeking her third straight win in a division desperately in need of contenders.
