UFC Vegas 51 is headlined by Vicente Luque and Belal Muhammad in a rematch of a fight from 2016. That fight was less than competitive, with Luque starching Muhammad in less than 90 seconds after taking the fight on short notice. Since then, Luque is 10-2 while Muhammad is 10-1. Contender Series standouts take center stage in the co-main event as Caio Borralho faces Gadzhi Omargadzhiev. Borralho was 2-0 on the Contender Series with a first-round knockout. Omargadzhiev submitted his opponent with a kneebar in the first round. Borralho was picked by five of eight writers.
Miguel Baeza looks to get back on track against Pedro Fialho. Baeza has lost two straight fights while Fialho fell to Michel Pereira in his UFC debut. Baeza was picked by five of eight writers.
Mayra Bueno Silva faces Yanan Wu on the main card. Bueno Silva is 2-2-1 in her Octagon career with a pair of submissions. Wu, on the other hand, is 1-3 with the lone win coming by submission. Cageside Press was split at four picks apiece.
A pair of prospects cross paths on the main card as Pat Sabatini takes on TJ Laramie. Sabatini is a promising 3-0 in the Octagon with a submission victory and Laramie was submitted in his UFC debut. Sabatini was unanimously picked.
Opening the UFC Vegas 51 main card will be Mounir Lazzez and Ange Loosa. Lazzez is 1-1 in the Octagon with a win over Abdul Razak Alhassan. Loosa earned a spot on the roster with a win over John “Doomsday” Howard on a regional card, owning an 8-2 record. All but two writers picked Lazzez.
