The middleweight match-up between Kyle Daukaus and Roman Dolidze, originally planned for last November, is back on.
Daukaus (11-2, 1NC) and Dolidze (9-1) have been scheduled to face off as part of the UFC’s June 18 Fight Night event. Setanta Sports was first to report news of the booking. Both fighters subsequently confirmed the match-up on social media.
The pair’s first meeting was scrapped due to COVID-19 protocols, with a member of Dolidze’s camp testing positive for the disease. Daukaus would go on to pick up a win against Jamie Pickett this past February, improving his UFC record to 2-2, 1NC.
Dolidze has not fought since June of last year, when he picked up a victory over Laureano Staropoli. The Georgian fighter is 3-1 inside the octagon to date, with wins over Staropoli, Khadis Ibragimov, and John Allan.
The UFC’s June 18, 2022 Fight Night event does not yet have an official venue, location, or broadcast plan announced. No main event has been reported for the show. Coincidentally, the only other bouts reported for the card thus far also reside in the 185lb weight class. Currently, the line-up breaks down as follows:
- Julian Marquez vs. Wellington Turman
- Phil Hawes vs. Deron Winn
- Kyle Daukaus vs. Roman Dolidze
