Miami Beach, FL – Hours after news broke of an altercation between UFC welterweights Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington the former has now been charged with felony battery.
According to ESPN Masvidal has been charged with felony battery following an alleged fight between himself and Covington. A Miami Beach public information officer told ESPN that the victim lost teeth, but was not identified in the report.
Masvidal had posted on twitter, tagging Covington, a video talking about “talk that sh*t you got to back it up.”

Video obtained by TMZ shows part of the altercation. In the police report, the victim says he was attacked without notice and punched twice. The victim says they heard Masvidal say, “You shouldn’t have been talking about my kids.”
According to the police report Masvidal walked up to the victim while they were leaving the restaurant, wearing a surgical mask and a hoodie, and attacked him. The victim was punched twice. The report states that the victim identified Masvidal due to his hair, upper-face features and voice.
Masvidal and Covington are coming off a main event bout at UFC 272 where Covington took a unanimous decision victory.
