The Professional Fighters League has confirmed that the 2022 regular season will be taking place in both Texas and Atlanta. The promotion sent out a release saying that there will be three dates at the Esports Stadium in Arlington, Texas before shifting to Atlanta, Georgia for three more dates.
The season will begin on April 20 in Texas and feature two more events on April 28 and May 06. The April 20 event will feature lightweights and light heavyweights, the April 28 event will feature featherweights and heavyweights, and the May 06 event will feature welterweights and women’s lightweights. The season will then move to Atlanta at a venue TBD for events on June 17, June 24, and July 01. The events will feature the same weight classes in the same corresponding order for all three Georgia events as they do in Texas. All the events will air on a combination of ESPN+ and ESPN or ESPN 2.
Not mentioned in the press release were the PFL’s plans for their inaugural pay-per-view event which is expected to take place amidst the fourth season this year. While exact details have not been revealed, it is expected that the event will feature their most high profile names in exclusive matchups that will have no impact on the tournament standings.
Currently, the PFL is in the midst of airing their Challenger Series in which up-and-coming prospects compete on fuboTV for an opportunity to be part of the upcoming regular season on ESPN.
