Two very bright flyweight prospects will collide this summer as part of DWCS Season 6.
Multiple sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, have confirmed to Cageside Press that a fight between Eternal flyweight champion Stephen Erceg and Clayton Carpenter is in the works for season six of Dana White’s Contender Series. The date of the fight is yet to be determined. MMA Junkie’s Nolan King recenrly reported that the sixth season is set to begin in July.
Erceg (8-1) will be riding a seven-fight win streak when he enters the octagon this summer. “Astroboy” has been one of the best flyweight prospects outside of the UFC. He defended his flyweight belt in his most recent outing against Paul Loga, and four months prior, he went to war with young stud Cody Haddon on short notice. Erceg defended his belt once for Eternal. You can check out our recent interview with him.
Carpenter (5-0) has been on a roll since turning pro in 2019. The 25-year old has finished four of his five opponents. “Concrete” is coming off a vicious 13-second head kick knockout over Rodney Kealohi at LFA 119. Carpenter was scheduled to return to action in his hometown at LFA 124 against Windson Ramos; however, the fight was canceled.
