The co-main event of UFC London saw Dan Hooker return to the featherweight division to take on surging Brit Arnold Allen.
That said, as hot as Allen had been, he’d also been out for nearly a year, with an eleven month hiatus since his last fight.
Right after the 4 minute mark both men decide to get after it. Allen wobbles Hooker, but Hooker preservers, Allen will continue to flurry forward before Hooker can create some space. Allen again wobbles Hooker with a left, following it up with a high kick and then puts on a barrage of punches and elbows. This leads to the ref calling the match and Allen securing the TKO victory within the first round.
With this performance Arnold Allen silences any doubters with a TKO of one of the very best the UFC has to offer, moving to 18-1 in his pro career and a nine fight win streak within the UFC. Dan Hooker moves to 21-12 and leaves the big question in all of our minds as to what is next for a fighter who has been one of the top competitors for a while — but whose return to featherweight did not go as planned.
Official Result: Arnold Allen def. Dan Hooker by TKO, Round 1, 2:23
