A fun featherweight match-up is going down in March when Austin Arnett returns to the cage.
America’s Austin Arnett will fight France’s William Gomis at UAE Warriors 28 on March 26 in Abu Dhabi. Multiple sources with knowledge of the booking confirmed the news to Cageside Press on Monday.
UFC veteran Arnett (17-7) is coming off a highlight finish. He knocked out Daniel Vega in the third round at UAE 18 last March in a catchweight bout. “Golden Boy” signed with UAE in early 2020 and has gone 1-1 with the promotion so far. The 30-year old faced former title challenger Cory Sandhagen and Canada’s Hakeem Dawodu during his UFC run.
Gomis (8-2) will be making his UAE debut in March. The fighter from France is riding a seven-fight win streak that dates back to 2016. He has finished four of his last five opponents as well. “The Punisher” fought twice in 2021, going 2-0, fighting once in Cage Warriors.
UAE Warriors 28 will be headlined by a middleweight title fight between Tarek Suleiman and SBG Ireland’s Will Fleury. It will take place at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
The event will be part of a tripleheader showcase with back-to-back-to-back at the Etihad Arena on Yas Island and live exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
