On paper, the latest UFC Fight Night offering is a very solid card indeed. UFC Vegas 50, which arrives this Saturday in Las Vegas, is deep by ESPN+ standards. A compelling light heavyweight main event between Thiago Santos and Magomed Ankalaev could propel the latter into title contention with a statement win.
Also featured on the card, former bantamweight title challenger, Marlon Moraes, looking to pull out of a three-fight skid against China’s Song Yadong, the suddenly hot Alex “Bruce Leeroy” Caceres, and a fun match-up between lightweight Drew Dober and “T.Wrecks” — Terrance McKinney, stepping into the fight on short notice.
That’s just the main card, in part. In preliminary action, Sabina Mazo and Miranda Maverick both looked to snap two-fight skids, while the women’s flyweight division record holder for submissions and finishes, Gillian Robertson, stepped into a short-notice fight with JJ Aldrich, looking for her second straight win.
In the featured prelim slot were welterweights Matthew Semelsberger and A.J. Fletcher, with Contender Series winner Fletcher making his promotional debut in the fight.
