Invicta FC 46 saw Karina Rodriguez successfully defend her flyweight title in an immediate rematch against Daiana Toquato — but it wasn’t easy.
Torquato wasn’t even the originally scheduled opponent for Rodriguez in the card’s main event. Instead, Rodriguez had been booked opposite Ketlen Souza — only for the Brazilian to pull out of the event on short notice. Torquato, fighting earlier on the card, was bumped up the main event, making the fight a rematch of their May 2021 meeting, which saw Rodriguez win a unanimous decision and claim the promotion’s vacant 125lb title.
The rematch went the distance as well, with Torquato finding success with her takedowns. But the end result was similar: a split decision this time, but again in favor of Karina Rodriguez.
Stealing the show at Invicta FC 46 was the co-main event, which had newcomer Denise Gomes brawl it out with UFC vet Milana Dudieva. While Dudieva came close to finishing in the second, it was Gomes securing the TKO victory in the final frame.
