RIZIN Fighting Federation returned to action on Wednesday with a rare mid-week show, RIZIN TRIGGER 2nd.
The event was set to take place at the Ecopa Arena in Shizuoka, Japan on February 23, 2022, with a featherweight scrap in the main event. That bout featured former KSW champ Kleber Koike Erbst, looking for his fourth win under the RIZIN banner.
With Koike’s only loss in MMA since 2016 coming to current UFC star Mateusz Gamrot, Koike felt like a shoo-in for a title shot should he get the win over Ulka Sasaki on Saturday. Another veteran of the UFC octagon, Sasaki, a former flyweight, had made the move to featherweight last year, losing to Yoshinori Horie at RIZIN 30.
Full results from RIZIN TRIGGER 2nd can be found below. An English broadcast of the event will stream via LIVE-NOW, with commentary by UFC alum Damien Brown.
