After three attempts to make it to the octagon last year fell through, Ukraine’s Denys Bondar finally made his promotional debut at UFC Vegas 47 on Saturday night.

Bondar brought a 10 fight win streak with him to the Las Vegas Fight Night card, where he was up against Canadian Malcolm Gordon. Gordon was coming off the first win of his UFC career, over Francisco Figueiredo.

Unfortunately for Bondar, his bad luck continued Saturday, as the affair was over shortly after it opened up the preliminary card.

In the opening seconds, Bondar took Gordon down. In what was a crank more than anything, Gordon had a hold of Bondar’s arm. Gordon put the pressure on along the fence, and before long, the arm was bent the wrong way. Bondar, for obvious reasons, was forced to tap. Come the end of the fight, he was clearly in pain. A shocking and unfortunate debut for Denys Bondar.

Despite the unfortunate ending to the bout, Malcolm Gordon has now secured his second straight victory inside the octagon. Following the win, the Canadian flyweight said he wants to make a run at the title this year, and start putting wins together — though first up, Gordon will be getting married this May.

Official result: Malcolm Gordon def. Denys Bondar by TKO (arm injury), Round 1, 1:22
