Eagle FC has signed another former UFC fighter.
Multiple sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, have confirmed to Cageside Press that Eagle FC is working on a fight between former UFC heavyweight Yorgan De Castro and two-time Bellator fighter Shaun Asher.
After returning to CES MMA recently, the promotion he started his professional career with, Cageside Press has also learned that De Castro has signed a multi-fight deal with Eagle FC.
In November, De Castro (7-3) got back into the win column as he defeated Danyelle Williams via unanimous decision at CES 65. The win snapped a three-fight skid for “The Mad Titan.” Prior to his win in November, De Castro was released from the UFC after being knocked out by Jarjis Danho in April.
Asher (13-4-1) returned to action from a two-year layoff in April of 2021 at Bellator 257. Unfortunately, he would lose to top Bellator prospect Steve Mowry via first-round TKO. The loss snapped his two-fight win streak.
Eagle FC 44 will take place in Miami, Florida, on January 28, 2022 and will be the first time the promotion lands in the United States. Tyrone Spong and Sergei Kharitonov will headline the event.
Eagle FC 44 currently breaks down as follows:
- Tyrone Spong vs. Sergei Kharitonov
- Rashad Evans vs. Gabriel Checco
- Ray Borg vs. Cody Gibson
- Renan Barao vs. Horacio Gutierrez
- Ramazan Kuramagomedov vs. John Howard
- Miles Hunsinger vs. Demarques Jackson
- Yorgan De Castro vs. Shaun Asher
