Middleweight Brendan Allen has yet another opponent for December’s UFC on ESPN 31.
After being lined up to fight Brad Tavares, then Roman Dolidze, Allen is now set to face Chris Curtis at the Fight Night event. Cageside Press confirmed the booking with a source familiar with the situation following an initial report by MMA DNA.
Dolidze, who had stepped in to replace Tavares, reportedly withdrew due to ongoing issues stemming from a battle with COVID-19.
Curtis (27-8) will make a quick turnaround in the match-up, having made his debut earlier this month. That fight saw the “Action Man” defeat Phil Hawes at UFC 268, via knockout late in the opening round.
It was a long-awaited debut for Curtis, who put his time in on the regional scene, competed for the PFL, and had even retired from the sport briefly.
Allen (17-4) has posted a 5-1 record since joining the UFC. He previously captured gold under the LFA banner. The 25-year old last fought in July, winning a unanimous decision against Punahele Soriano.
