Fighter’s Only Magazine has announced the date for the 13th Annual World MMA Awards ceremony.
In a press release distributed Wednesday, it was revealed that this year’s World MMA Awards will take place on Friday, December 10, 2021, at Worre Studios in Las Vegas, Nevada. The awards will cover the 12 month period between July 2020 and July 2021.
Past winners at the awards show include UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Amanda Nunes. Voting for this year’s awards, which includes categories like Fighter of the Year, Knockout of the Year, Promotion of the Year, Analyst of the Year, and Ringcard Girl of the Year, is now closed.
Rob Hewitt, CEO of Fighters Only, was quoted in Wednesday’s release as saying “Last year saw the awards take place in a TV studio setting with no audience in attendance and I am ecstatic to say that this year we have won our fight and found a solution. We look forward to welcoming our nominees, special guests, and all the stars from our industry back to celebrate in person at the World MMA Awards.”
In addition, fans will be able to attend the event virtually. “I also look forward to welcoming the fans back in a very unique and special way. The Worre Studios will allow for MMA fans worldwide to join us virtually in studio too. After all, it is the fans who decide who wins and by giving the ability for those who love MMA from all around the world to be in attendance to watch their winners crowned live, this year’s event will be like no other.”
