With strawweight Nina Nunes off the card, Angela Hill is stepping up on just over a month’s notice to fight Amanda Lemos at UFC Vegas 45.
Hill (13-10) holds the record as the UFC’s busiest fighter, appearing in six bouts in just 337 days. So it’s no surprise to learn that she’s game to step in against Lemos (10-1-1), especially given Hill last fought in August — a lifetime ago given her usual pace.
“Overkill” confirmed the news on social media following an initial report by Ag.Fight. No reason has been given for Nunes’ withdrawal from the fight.
Hill last competed against Tecia Torres at UFC 265, losing a unanimous decision. The fight was a rematch of their 2015 meeting, which Torres also won. Overall, Hill is just 1-3 in her past four bouts and needs to get back in the win column.
Lemos, meanwhile, has been surging of late. The Brazilian has won four straight fights since dropping her debut to Leslie Smith in 2017. That fight came at 135lbs; Lemos is undefeated since dropping down to strawweight.
