Tagir Ulanbekov welcomed promotional newcomer Allan Nascimento to the octagon at UFC 267 on Saturday, with the flyweight pair kicking off the preliminary card.
After pulling out of three fights (against two opponents), Ulanbekov was fighting for the first time in 2021 on Saturday. Brazil’s Nascimento was coming off a July win, in what had been his first fight since 2018.
Ulanbekov started coming forward and was coming into a flurry of output from Nascimento. Nascimento landed a good combination and a flying knee. Ulanbekov responded with getting a body lock takedown. Nascimento threw up a triangle and as he didn’t get it the Brazilian got back to the feet. Going for another submission Nascimento rolled for a kneebar using it to get on top. He went right into a guillotine from Ulanbekov. It was really tight even Ulanbekov getting into the mount with it still fully locked in. Somehow, Nascimento was able to survive. Nascimento ended the round by attacking the armbar again.

Right away Ulanbekov took Nascimento down in the opening seconds of round three. It what was almost a sweep from Nascimento using a kimura Ulanbekov secured the top position. Constant work from Nascimento off his back as long as Ulanbekov sat in his guard. Ulanbekov finally moved to half-guard and started to be more aggressive with his ground and pound. Nascimento postered up for a kimura to regain guard where he right away attacked a triangle again. Nothing deep but that’s where the fight ends.
