LFA 116 found Josh Fremd looking to regroup.
One fight prior, Fremd had been up against Gregory “Robocop” Rodrigues for the LFA middleweight championship. It simply wasn’t his night.
Rodrigues would claim the title, and a week later find himself fighting in the UFC. Fremd, meanwhile, was left looking at someone else living out his dream.
At LFA 116 on Friday night in Colorado, Fremd got his chance to bounce back. And he did. Paired up with Brazil’s Renato Valente, who was coming off a win from back in July, Fremd worked his jab early — and worked it well enough to score a knockdown. From there, he went on to win a clear-cut decision, utilizing his wrestling, winning stand-up battles, and leaving Valente in need of a finish in the third and final round.
