Recent Contender Series contract winner Jasmine Jasudavicius has her first UFC fight lined up.
On Friday, multiple sources confirmed to Cageside Press that Jasudavicius is being lined up to fight Kay Hansen in a flyweight bout on January 15, 2022. News of the booking was first reported by MMA Island.
Hansen (7-4) landed on the radar after a strong run under the Invicta FC banner that started when she was still a teenager. The 22-year old joined the UFC in 2020, debuting in a Performance of the Night winning effort against fellow Invicta alum Jinh Yu Frey. Hansen won the bout via submission.
The youngster fell in her sophomore outing to Cory McKenna later that year. She has not fought since. Hansen was booked to face Cheyanne Buys this past March, but was forced to withdraw from the fight. As a result, she’ll have missed over a year by the time she returns to action this January.
St. Catharines, Ontario’s Jasmine Jasudavicius (6-1) is fresh off her Dana White’s Contender Series win over Julia Polastri. Her lone loss came to current UFC fighter Elise Reed, for the CFFC strawweight championship last year. Jasudavicius, 32, has won her last two bouts.
This will be the second consecutive fight that will see Hansen take on a Contender Series winner.
The UFC’s January 15, 2022 event does not yet have a location, venue, or broadcast plan announced. The following bouts have been reported for the card thus far:
Bill Algeo vs. Joanderson Brito
Zarrukh Adashev vs. Kleydson Rodrigues
Rogério Bontorin vs. Brandon Royval
Jasmine Hasudavicius vs. Kay Hansen
