It may have been an early fight card for some, but it was a nice change for the fans across the pond as the UFC Vegas 36 gifted them a fight night that was at a decent time as the card showcased many of England’s top talent.

The main event pitted two of the UFC’s top middleweights, Derek Brunson and Darren Till, both looking for a chance to steal the show inside the UFC Apex and hoping for a shot at gold.

Darren Till looked to bounce back after a close loss against Robert Whittaker. Till was hoping to showcase that he was still a top contender after that fight and was looking to steal the momentum Brunson has been riding coming into their battle.

Derek Brunson has not tasted defeat since 2018 where he lost to the current Middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. Entering on a four fight win streak, Derek looked to continue being a top contender with a win over the always dangerous Darren Till.

Derek Brunson’s takedowns were the story of the fight and heavy ground and pound damaged Till leading into the third round. After a quick exchange on the feet, Till looked to have had Derek in danger but the veteran Brunson got the mount until Till gave his back. That was enough for Brunson to capture the submission victory. Brunson now seems primed for a title shot, but a previous loss to Israel Adesanya could hold him back.
