A quick and brutal head kick gave Abdul Razak Alhassan a much-needed win over Alessio Di Chirico at UFC Vegas 35.
Italy’s Alessio Di Chirico was the man who had derailed the Joaquin Buckley hype train to start 2021 with a nasty head kick of his own. At UFC Vegas 35, Di Chirico was looking for his second win against Abdul Razak Alhassan, who had dropped three consecutive bouts leading into the night.
Must-win territory, in other words. Even Di Chirico was far from secure, given he had lost three straight prior to the Buckley upset.
Both fighters took the center after a touch of gloves. A low kick started the action. Alhassan lands a high kick that sends Di Chirico crashing to the floor, and that’s it! Alhassan only needed 17 seconds. Performance of the night will be coming his way.

Alhassan needed that win so bad. He snaps his three-fight losing streak and keeps his 100% finish rate, with all of them coming in the first round. When Alhassan is fighting, you watch. Unfortunately for Di Chirico, this loss halts all of his momentum that he had from his win earlier this year. The Italian will have to regroup and come back stronger.
