A pair of ranked women’s flyweights will collide at a UFC event in November.
MMA Junkie was first to report the news that No. 8 ranked flyweight Jessica Eye will fight No. 11 ranked Andrea Lee on November 13 at a yet-to-be-announced Fight Night event. A source close to the situation later confirmed the fight to Cageside Press.
Eye (15-10-1) has hit a three-fight skid for the second time in her career. After defeating rising prospect Viviane Araújo to cap off her 2019, she lost to Cynthia Calvillo in her first UFC main event, which would be her only fight in 2020. “Evil” returned to action at UFC 257 against Joanne Calderwood in a slugfest but would lose a unanimous decision. In her most recent outing, she lost to Jennifer Maia in a very close unanimous decision.
In contrast, Lee (12-5) snapped her three-fight skid in her last outing. She submitted Antonina Shevchenko at UFC 262 via triangle-armbar. Before that, she had lost fights to Roxanne Modafferi, Calderwood, and Lauren Murphy. “KGB” will be looking to snatch Eye’s No. 8 ranking.
No location, venue, or broadcast plan has been announced for the November 20 event, but promotion President Dana White said that all Fight Nights will be staying at the Apex in Las Vegas, NV. Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez are expected to headline.
So far, the November 13 card looks like this.
- Max Holloway vs. Yair Rodríguez
- Ovince Saint Preux vs. Philipe Lins
- Jessica Eye vs. Andrea Lee
