The Professional Fighters League was back in action on Thursday night, with it’s second 2021 playoff event topped by its biggest star, lightweight Kayla Harrison.
The undefeated Harrison (10-0) was looking to secure a spot in the finals in October, with a second million dollar championship win a real possibility. Opposite the Olympic gold medallist was the unheralded Genah Fabian, a teammate of Israel Adesanya at City Kickboxing looking to pull off a sizable upset — though at six feet, she held a considerable height and reach advantage over the judo star.
Also on Thursday’s card was the heavyweight semifinals, featuring Ante Delija against Denis Goltsov in one pairing. Delija, who trains under the legendary Mirko Cro-Cop, had signed with the UFC last year, but was forced out of a fight with Ciryl Gane due to an existing contract with the PFL.
