UFC welterweight and Dana White’s Contender Series winner Jordan Williams found himself in a fight on Wednesday. It just wasn’t in the octagon.
While parked at a gas station, a man attempted to steal Williams’ ride, which was turned on, but did not have the keys in it. The push start feature will not allow the car to be driven unless the keys are within five feet of the vehicle, so the culprit didn’t get very far. And he got more than he bargained for when Williams rushed over, landing several knees and dragging him out of the driver’s seat.
The suspect subsequently fled the scene.
Williams (9-5, 1NC) posted video of the incident on social media. “So someone tried to steal my car today,” he wrote, before giving a breakdown of what followed.
“If you are wondering why my car was still on its the same reason why he couldn’t drive away, I have a push to start and my car won’t go unless the keys are within 5 ft of it and I have them on me always. Needless to say my lesson was learned and I hope so was his.
Wish I would of hit him with the trip after the clinch work when I tossed him out of the whip, and finish off with some ground and pound but I’ll settle with getting my car back.”
Jordan last competed in July, suffered a loss to Mickey Gall, but he was definitely a winner on Wednesday.
