The PFL Playoffs 3 card has been announced in its entirety — and rising star Brendan Loughnane is in the headlining slot.
Loughnane (21-3) will meet Movlid Khaybulaev (17-0-1) in one of two featherweight semi-finals atop the August 27 event, which takes place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
The other featherweight semi-final features in the co-main event, as Chris Wade (19-6) takes on Bubba Jenkins (16-4).
Loughnane hit the mainstream radar via Dana White’s Contender Series a few years back — mainly due to be snubbed by Ultimate Fighting Championship president Dana White, who failed to award him a contract despite a one-sided decision in Loughnane’s favor.
The UFC’s loss has quickly become the PFL’s gain. Lougnane now sits on a seven-fight win streak, including his DWCS fight, and wins over ex-UFC fighters Sheymon Moraes and Tyler Diamond during the PFL’s 2021 regular season.
Khaybulaev remains officially undefeated, although he did initially lose to Daniel Pineda during the 2019 playoffs. However, that result was overturned after Pineda was found to have an elevated T/E ratio following the fight.
The PFL 2021 light heavyweight semifinals also feature on the card.
