UFC 265 rolls into Houston, Texas this weekend — right in Derrick Lewis’ back yard.
The PPV event, which recently lost a title fight when Amanda Nunes tested positive for COVID-19, will crown an interim heavyweight champion when Lewis takes on the undefeated Ciryl Gane. While the necessity of that interim belt can and should be debated, it shouldn’t lessen the anticipation for the fight by any means — as the sold out Toyota Center proves.
Aside from Lewis vs. Gane, there’s a key bantamweight scrap between Jose Aldo and Pedro Munhoz also featured on the card. Not to mention a welterweight showdown between Michael Chiesa and Vicente Luque (a booking first reported by Cageside Press) that could leave the winner in title contention.
