Las Vegas, NV — With only two fights inside the UFC, Miranda Maverick says a new version of herself is coming.
No. 13 ranked flyweight Maverick faces No. 14 ranked Maycee Barber this weekend at UFC Vegas 32. “Fear the Maverick” is riding a five-fight win streak and has won both of her UFC fights.
Even with a nice win streak and looking very impressive in her two UFC fights, a new version of Maverick is coming, she explained, and we will see it on Saturday.
“My nutrition is the best it has ever been, my weight cut right now— I’m at a lower weight than I’ve ever been going into a weight cut; I feel amazing, my mindset is top-notch- better than it’s ever been,” Maverick told Cageside Press during this week’s UFC Vegas 32 media day. “I’ve been getting finally enough sleep; school is taking less of a priority so I can focus on what I need to. I have a meal prep company that makes my meals every week.”
“Just everything is so on point, plus all of the different training I was speaking of- cross-training with Gillian [Robertson], with Diana [Belbita], also training down here with Aspen [Ladd] and Andrea [Lee]. “It’s just all adding to my game, all adding to the confidence that I have but also the skill that I have. I’m ready to go in there and show that my physicality, my mentality, and my spirituality have all improved.”
Robertson is a former opponent of Maverick; Belbita and Ladd share the card with her this Saturday. Plenty of bodies to work with to help reinvent herself. When asked if we could see Miranda Maverick 3.0 here soon because she is training full time, she laughed and said, “possibly.”
