Legacy Fighting Alliance kicked off a big weekend for the promotion Friday, with LFA 111 marking the first of two LFA events in just three days. It also marked the organization’s first international event, as the promotion was traveling to Brazil this weekend, a first for what has, to date, been looked at as a regional promotion and feeder league for the UFC.
The main event featured lightweight action, as top prospect Rangel De Sa stepped into the LFA cage for the first time, looking to extend his six-fight win streak. De Sa was up against Ismael Bonfim, a fellow Brazilian on his own eight-fight winning streak. Bonfim had not lost a bout since 2014.
Friday’s card was not without its hiccups however. Carlos Mota, whose long-anticipated return to action was to come against Rodrigo Roldan, will have to wait a little longer to get back in the cage. That’s after Mota’s opponent tested positive for COVID-19.
Full results from LFA 111 can be found below! The event, taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Friday, July 16 airs live on UFC Fight Pass.
