Dustin Poirier hit the scales first. Conor McGregor followed a short time later. Both men hit 156lbs even, and just like that, the UFC 264 main event was official.
Friday’s early weigh-in for the PPV event went off almost without a hitch. Sean O’Malley rocked some shades. Fighter after fighter made weight. The only flub at the scales came from Irene Aldana, who was quite heavy for her women’s bantamweight bout with Yana Kunitskaya. Aldana, looking to bounce back from a loss to Holly Holm last fall, was 3.5lbs over the non-title limit. Hit with a 30% fine, her fight will move forward. Her title hopes, at least for now, may not.
Aside from that, Friday morning in Las Vegas was an orderly affair. Michel Pereira was last to weigh in, but successfully made weight, coming in at 170.5lbs. This time out, Greg Hardy did not need any extra time to make the heavyweight limit.
