A women’s strawweight showdown will see two fighters run it back at UFC 265, after a previous date fell through last year.
Tecia Torres (12-5) and Angela Hill (13-9) first met in 2015, during Hill’s short-lived first run with the promotion. They were expected to face off once again last year at UFC 256 in December. However, a positive COVID-19 test from Hill scuttled plans for that fight.
Now, the pair will face off for the second time at UFC 265 on August 7. MMA DNA was first to report the news.
After their December date fell through, both fighters then moved on to different opponents. Torres defeated short-notice replacement Sam Hughes after five minutes of work, with the doctor stepping in due to a cut on Huges. That gave “The Tiny Tornado” her second straight win, a breath of fresh air after she struggled through a four-fight losing streak.
Hill, meanwhile, is coming off a win over Ashley Yoder in March. “Overkill” is 4-2 in her last six bouts.
No location or venue has been announced as of yet for the UFC 265 card. The line-up for the event currently breaks down as follows:
