While the focus is currently on the return of The Ultimate Fighter, this year’s installment of Dana White’s Contender Series continues to shape up — with Jack Della Maddalena vs. Ange Loosa set for September 14, sources have confirmed to Cageside Press.
After starting off his career by losing his first two fights, Jack Della Maddalena is now on a nine-fight win streak. He is also the defending Eternal MMA welterweight champion. Della’s level of competition could be better, but all his wins have seen him defeat fighters with winning records.
Of all the prospects out of Australia, Maddalena is towards the top as the best the country has to offer. He’s kept active even throughout the pandemic as well. There’s no question he’s deserving of a Contender Series opportunity. Maddalena is 9-2 looking to punch that ticket to the UFC.
That ticket won’t be punched if he doesn’t get through his opponent, Ange Loosa. From Switzerland, Loosa is 7-1 as a professional. The Swiss fighter currently lives in the U.S., and trains out of the red-hot Sanford MMA.
Loosa’s last two fights have been on U.S. soil. He fell short in his LFA debut, but won the next bout under the Titan FC banner. Loosa hasn’t fought since April of 2019 but that hasn’t stopped the opportunities from arising.
