Alan Jouban Interview (2:01)
Kicking off this week’s episode is Alan Jouban, who just recently decided to step away from MMA for good. With his fighting days in his rear view mirror, Jouban discussed with Gumby what it was that made him walk away for good. In addition to that, he also shares some of his biggest regrets over the course of his career (which he does not have many of). He also digs into his best memories and a drove of other great look backs at his phenomenal career.
The Aesthetically Pleasing Draft (22:41)
With no UFC this week, the guys decided to have a fun little game in the middle of the show. If you were told that going forward, your MMA consumption would be limited to the work of 3 fighters – who would you pick? You don’t get to see any old fights, just 3 fighters and only moving forward. It’s a hard question that makes you think about longevity, entertainment, and high profile fights. Gumby and Shockwave go head to head with their lists and agree on quite a bit. Check out what they had to say.
Youssef Zalal Interview (40:11)
Last, but not least, Youssef Zalal stops by the show to discuss his upcoming bout with Sean Woodson. Both men stormed into the UFC like a bat out of hell, but have had tougher times as of late. Zalal discusses needing to get back on track and what he changed from last time out to this one. Plus, he digs into the mental side of the game for a little insight into what fighters think about. If that’s not enough for you, Zalal also discusses training in the gi and recently getting his BJJ brown belt. All of that in one interview.
