Recently crowned LFA champion Gregory Rodrigues will be making his UFC debut on short notice as he steps in to take on Dusko Todorovic on June 5.
The newly crowned LFA middleweight champion will be stepping in to make his UFC debut on short notice as Gregory Rodrigues steps in Maki Pitolo next Saturday against Dusko Todorovic. Fighterpath.com was the first to report the news.
Rodrigues (8-3) will be stepping in fresh from a fight as he stopped Josh Fremd in the finals of LFA’s middleweight tournament to win the title last Friday. The first round victory was his second since appearing on Dana White’s Contender Series last summer where he came up short against Jordan Williams. Following the bout, Rodrigues made the move to Sanford MMA in Florida and now has two knockout victories since being with the team.
Todorovic (10-1) is looking to bounce back from his first career loss in January where he was stopped by Punahele Soriano. Prior to the bout, “Thunder” had been a perfect 10-0 that included beating Teddy Ash on the Contender Series to win a UFC contract and Dequan Townsend in his UFC debut.
The event is set to be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Contender Series alum Augusto Sakai. The event will be held at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.
